My daughter told me today she no longer tidies her room, instead she 'resets' it to tidy each Sunday for the week ahead . She said mentally this helps because tidy sounds such a chore while reset doesn't, and the thought that there's a weekly reset means she doesn't feel bad if the room gets messy in the week, because she'll reset on Sunday!
Anyway I thought it was cute and might be useful for someone
@Tattooed_mummy that is utterly brilliant and I am adding it to my brain vocabulary immediately.
@Tattooed_mummy I like this. I've been needing to reset my office for months...
@Tattooed_mummy that's brilliant. I never thought about it like that.
I do this! Change the sheets, do laundry, wash dishes, clean bathroom.
Psychologically, Sunday is an 'easy' day for me to putter, and I like things fresh for Monday/the new week.
I really like the thought of 'reset' though.
@Tattooed_mummy I try to do this with my office! It helps me get ready for the week; even though I work remotely and asynchronously and am a contract employee my job maintains banker’s hours for its regular employees and they encourage us to keep to roughly the same schedule.
