I'm curious, fandom fedi. What will you be murdered for in the bigger internet fandom space?

@geraineon honestly I'm very boring and vallina, except for the people who are like "not reading dark fiction makes you a bad person" I can't think of anything

@geraineon most of my not getting along with the fandom mainstream issues are thinks like enjoying female characters and friendship -- which other people are not interested in but mostly don't yell at people about either
@geraineon ok reading other people's replies I can add enjoying nuance and reading ebooks of fan translations that the translators have asked not be made into ebooks

@Forestofglory@wandering.shop I think they should try harder too. It has grown too big but it feels like they are still thinking of it as a pet school project sometimes

My controversial opinion is I think people should move away from centralized spaces like AO3 but I know that's hard for both writers and readers
@geraineon I agree in principle, but in practice I haven't moved my stuff or read stuff elsewhere
@geraineon @Forestofglory yeah its weird because its an amateur small project when thats convenient to them, but they’ll turn around and be like you can’t criticize us we are The Backbone of Fandom as if those aren’t mutually contradictory positions 
(I am definitely cancelled by someone somewhere for calling the OTW racist)
@Satsuma@glitch.cat.family @Forestofglory@wandering.shop they can't have it both ways. And I think fandom also needs to stop giving them passes for being the underdog or whatever. They are not, not anymore.
same, same, and if they have to exist they should be more conscientious stewards in general.
I stopped posting there in 2023 but I'm still working on putting my own site together. I can't say I don't miss it a little, but I definitely don't miss it more than that. My fandom experience has dramatically improved.
