Today's exercise for idle #linguistics scholars:
Transcribe an American pop song using only syllables allowed in another language. This is a great way to get undergrads thinking about #prosody. Here's an example using Mandarin syllable and word structure.
Tudeizi gana bizi deizi
Zi gana souyi ba tu yu
Bai nao yu shu de sama
Li'er lai wachu ga-te du
Ai dou bilize e-ni ba di
Bizi wei ai du
A, bai qi nao!
@memnus nah, for that I'd have to figure out how to write "strangers" in three syllables or less without consonant clusters

@eladhen You get bonus points for making the actual Hebrew mean something. I will probably choose characters to go with the Mandarin on a second pass.
@DialMforMara It's hard to say it means something, but it is comprised of actual words ๐
@DialMforMara Writing English using only Hebrew *words* and the other way around is a favorite pastime of mine.
@eladhen fun! Have you read Mots D'Heures: Gousses, Rames?
@DialMforMara
Oh! This is great! I'm sure it's better with more French than I got, though.
