It's come to my attention that asking to be paid what you think your skills are worth for freelancing is a great way to make people think you're too expensive to hire
What do I say when people ask how much I charge for editing?
@DialMforMara tell them it depends on how well they want it edited?
@ajroach42 it's a friend asking
@DialMforMara Oh.
In that case, you say no.
Or at least, that's what I say. I don't work for free, and I don't work for friends.
@DialMforMara also compare properly. I'm giving you a b and c for y dollars. Are they giving a b and c?
@DialMforMara "what's your project/budget?"
@DialMforMara it might depend on how much work you want to get and who your customer is. Getting paid what you’re worth is hard work.
@DialMforMara This is the price.
Shop it around if you want.
