Wandering Canageek (Backup) @Canageek

Moving my main account over here, so I should introduce myself.

I'm working on my in , working on making sensors for dangerous gasses out of uranium. I sometimes stream myself doing chemistry at twitch.tv/canageek (Also video games where @DialMforMara and I do lore and discussion streams.)

I also play and other games, particularly and and would love to talk about those.

Oh and I'm . Not a geek in a can. Common mistake.

@Canageek Ah, hence the reason for interest in uranyl coordination polymers? as sensitive materials for detecting gases?

@mona Yes, and very easy to make, one step. Plus rigid easy to characterize framework.

@Canageek You play GURPS? I'm in awe of your mathematical talents 😉
(I have a lot of GURPS sourcebooks but I prefer systems with fewer rules and more improv.)

@ghost_bird I play in a very improve way. The rules in play aren't to bad, but it helps that the DM really knows the rules for magic and whatnot. I'd actually say I have to do less math during play then when I play 3.5 as there are a lot less bonuses to add up.

@Canageek I'm usually the GM, which means there's more to keep track of. But (most of) the sourcebooks are undoubtedly excellent.
I'm fond of Cthulhu, though. That style of horror comes naturally to me and the system is easy for new players to pick up.

@ghost_bird That would make sense. I've never tried to run it. Cthulhu is good for that, but I got tired of that brand of horror. One of these days I'll get finished writing my own RPG that will be like Cthulhu but not horror based- less fragile PCs and such.

@Canageek Keeping it fresh is a big problem with Cthulhu, which is why I don't run it all the time. Have you looked at any of the old Chaosium games that use similar systems? Runequest, obviously, but I'm also thinking of Worlds of Wonder, or even the Ringworld RPG.

@Canageek I am from the town that discovered Radon and welcome you! :)

@Canageek well it is as long as the radon fan keeps running ;) otherwise i'll be able to mutate my own mice in the basement ;)
