Making Things Log, 2022-06-27: Successfully got my newsletter scheduled and hit all my revision goals even with having to fix one thing that apparently made it into the checklist but not the schedule. I'm so glad writing accelerates healing for me instead of making it harder.

Happy Monday Interfriends. Doing much better today after a day off work — every month it feels like I relearn that rest assists healing from first principles, and I hope this time it sticks.
Hoping for you all to do something that helps you feel better as soon as possible!

Happy Sunday Interfriends! The healing process continues here, and in the meantime I am beaming every kindness I can out to y’all and wishing for us all to stay hopeful and helpful as we can and to all of us get a freaking break.

USA politics

if you or someone you know is seeking any kind of reporductive health care in the USA the #EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) recently posted a guide with security and privacy tips to help improve safety when looking for these services

hope this helps someone

Making Things Log, 2022-06-26: Today I spent about 3 hours alternating revisions and chores, with an hour-ish meal break near the middle, and I could definitely have done this for twice as long. We all deserve to be this happy.

Anyone by any chance have an unwanted Pantone color card book? Coated or uncoated, doesn't matter. Also doesn't matter if it's like decades old, the basic colors haven't really changed aside from some new additions.

In silly news: If I did a podcast about card games of any kind, is there something you would want to talk about — a mainstream game like MtG, a more obscure one, an aspect of a big game perhaps? — or someone who may be interested in doing so?

Boosts appreciated if you think this sounds like a cool thing you would want to listen to.

racial & reproductive justice in the US, how to help

Black women in the South have been bracing for Roe's fall for decades:

if you live in a state that still has access to abortion, especially if that access seems pretty secure for now, consider becoming a regular donor to a reproductive justice organization in the South, such as those mentioned in this article:

Making Things Log, 2022-06-25: Got through everything that needed doing today, including setting up my summer newsletter. I love writing and I am so grateful I get to do it; I think it might be enough light to help me find my way back out of the darkness.

Today's current events have me predictably angry and hurt and scared, and so I'm staying off social media except to reply to @ comments so I don't stare into the Palantir. So if you need me, tag me or DM me plz, and drink some water and be good to yourselves and each other; we all deserve better than old white men want to give us. <3

Making Things Log, 2022-06-23: Got through tonight's revision goals incredibly fast. Given how wobbly I was this morning and the 2022 theme of "choose rest," I'm letting that mean a short writing night. Be good to yourselves!

🇺🇸 :covid19: People in the #US with low vision can now get more-accessible #COVID home #tests for no charge through the government.

Morning Interfriends. I just received word of a loved one testing positive for COVID, and between my own anxiety about this and wanting to reserve my energy for helping them if they need it, I am not going to be around much today. Please be good and stay as safe as you can.

Don’t let anyone get away with describing the oppression of your trans neighbours like it isn’t that bad—like it somehow isn’t fascism, or is less than the point of no return.
